Vitune Vongtama, MD
Overview Vitune Vongtama, MD is a board certified radiation oncologist by the American Board of Radiology, specializing in brachytherapy. He had his own practice for 27 years in Buffalo, New York before moving to California. Dr. Vongtama has treated over 10,000 patients, performed over 1,000 permanent prostate seed implants and more than 1,500 low dose brachytherapy procedures. He has written over 40 published clinical papers and co-authored several books. He is fully licensed as a radiation oncologist in California, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Vongtama also is a member of Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, Tracy, CA; San Joaquin General Hospital, Stockton, CA; and Dameron Hospital, Stockton, CA. He speaks English and Thai.

Dan Vongtama, MD
Overview Dan Vongtama, MD is a compassionate radiation oncologist with experience treating a wide range of cancer types utilizing advanced techniques and state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Vongtama comes to St. Teresa from Brooklyn, New York where he completed his residency training at SUNY Downstate Radiation Oncology. He also completed additional training at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York for head and neck, prostate, and breast cancer, as well as at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for head and neck, CNS, and pediatric cancer. Dr. Vongtama attended medical school in Chicago at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, where he also completed his internship in preliminary medicine. He graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts. His professional radiation oncology experience includes intensity modulated radiation therapy for head and neck, prostate, gastrointestinal, breast, and gynecologic cancers; brachytherapy for prostate, gynecologic, and breast cancers; and stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Vongtama, his wife Melissa, and their daughter are very happy to be joining the Stockton community.
